Posed Butterfly

This is one of the butterflies that had died and while it was in good shape I went ahead and propped it up to pose it for some macro shots.

Butterflies

One of the gifts the kids got for Christmas was a couple insect habitat's from insect lore. The set came with a butterfly one and a ladybug one that you send in the certificate and they send you the insects that go with them in there beginning stages so they can watch them go threw the process of changing. It was pretty interesting to watch, especially the butterflies as the ladybugs did not really work out for some reason. The butterflies we received as caterpillars and watched them grow and then change to a chrysalides and then a butterfly. There were 3 butterflies in all and we have just this one left, which will probably not last much longer as they do not have a long life span.

Flowers

While we were at Tom and Ginny's last night I photographed these flowers they have growing in their backyard. The over cast skies made it nice for some diffused even light.

LEGO Man

LEGO man was nice enough to make a second appearance here on my blog. Today he is helping me create my photo based off the letter M by holding a Match as he walks around in the dark and we all know that a match is like a torch too a LEGO man. (For a while he really thought he was Indiana Jones) I used up an entire book of matches taking pictures and working on getting something I liked and found out that it can be a bit hard to light the match, trigger the camera and shine the flashlight I was using for the main source of light on him. Now we will have to see what projects LEGO man might help out with in the future.
